AICS alumni in the spotlight: Leon Tsang

In this week's Sharing Stories episode, we hear from Leon Tsang, a Salary Administrator at Ernst and Young, who also has a number of side projects going on.

I started AICS in February 2008, I graduated in the year 2012, if I remember correctly.  After I finished school, I started to work full-time and also applied for a BSc degree.  I started my HBO in international business management at Hogeschool van Amsterdam, but two years later I dropped out due to family issues, and then worked in various places full-time.  I  was also working part-time during all of my studies.

In 2016 I picked up university again at De Haagse Hogeschool, studying a course on international finance management. In 2019 I graduated via the fast track.

Currently working in one of the Big Four - Ernst and Young as a Payroll Specialist and Administrator.  Within the organisation I am also involved with the MS copilot program and other tech-related fields.  Alongside my regular 9 - 5, I also run a marketing firm with 2 of my friends and recently, my girlfriend and I opened an online retail store.  Last but not least, I am working on various investment projects, including shares, crypto, and houses.

My fondest memories of my time at AICS were the graduation activities.  I was the lead of the entire project so I have gained significant experience in running and planning events and project management.  Back in the day, we had a tradition during graduation to compare each of the graduated students to the theme of the year.  My year was related to cars and today I still remember that moment very clearly.

To current AICS students considering their future, I would say, “Stay humble, and absorb the knowledge like a sponge - knowledge has no ends.”
